As the final touches were being put onto the Winders St home, the announcement came that a travel bubble with Australia was going ahead. What timing! Having been stuck in Melbourne for over a year, the owners were finally able to fly over and see the completed family home in person. Our team had created a stunning home (which we had become quite attached to), so it was nerve-racking to be presenting a finished product in this way! We are pleased to say that they were delighted!

Designed by Rafe Maclean Architects this is the most technical build the team have completed, featuring rammed earth, Abodo timbers, a sweeping twisted roof and vast detailing inside and out.

The home has been built for the Foreman family who have been regular visitors to Wānaka for over 40 years. Martin and Tim Foreman are the father and son team behind 'Jasper Living'. They are committed to thoughtful design and creating exquisite, high performance homes which are comfortable spaces to entertain friends and family as well as to unwind. They are genuinely committed to leaving a positive, lasting influence on the Wānaka community and environment.

This build was a new experience for all involved, with different approaches required for communication and management (consisting of many, many zoom meetings!). Despite the challenges presented by the global pandemic, the build process has been so enjoyable for everyone involved.

Dunlop Builders are also enjoying working with Jasper Living on their bespoke luxury development at 124 Warren St, at the heart of central Wānaka. As with Winders Street, we have worked with Tim via Zoom over the last 12 months on this build which completes early next year.

Ideally positioned on the elevated south side of Warren Street, these three spacious prestige homes are just a short walk from both town and the lake. The site’s natural topography provides superb panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding snow-capped mountains.

There are three homes being built - a front standalone family home with private front access, and two elevated luxury duplex homes at the rear. All three homes are designed for the Wānaka life - built with high quality, low maintenance materials providing comfort, space and accessibility.
